Short Chin Filler and Mentalis Botox for Dimpling Chins

Asians tend to have relatively protruding mouths. The most popular remedy for this would be braces, but many times the cause behind this look is just a short chin and not actually a protruding mouth structure. If this is your case, then a dermal filler injection in the chin can make your mouth look flatter and give you a prettier side profile.

I myself had braces when I was in elementary school, but I still didn't like the way my mouth was jutting out. Luckily, a filler injection helped significantly.

The ideal proportions are as following:

<Nose Tip to Upper Lip> : <Lower Lip to Chin Tip> = 1:1.5-2

However, most Asians fall short in the second category, lower lip to tip of chin. A simple filler to correct this can give you a much more modern and sophisticated look.

A few pictures can show you better than words. Notice how the face looks a lot slimmer and the mouth is not so protruding anymore.

Chin fillers can also help with double chins because a larger chin can tighten the skin underneath. Here you can see improvements in double chin, which also gave her a more delicate side profile.

For ladies who think their face is too round and want a V-line, chin filler injections are very effective. Many also worry that injecting more might make your face look bigger, but in reality a sharper chin and V-line actually make your face look smaller.

This patient below had a flat and masculine chin/jawline and was also recommended a chin filler. Plus, you can see that she had chin dimpling, which in Korean is also known as "gravel chin" because of the shape it resembles. Other names include "walnut chin" or "peach seed chin." This is due to over-development of the mentalis muscle and can be easily treated with a botox injection.

Short chins are frequently also associated with dimpling chins. This may be a source of concern because the chin appears wrinkly especially when taking photos. I have also received botox injections for my chin and I highly recommend it to anyone who has the same concerns.
