Shurink (Ultraformer 3) is the latest HIFU equipment in Korea and has recently been purchased in all 6 branches of Renewme Skin Clinic. HIFU treatment has been used in aesthetics for a few years now. To give you a general idea of how it works, Shurink (or any other HIFU equipment for that matter) delivers ultrasound energy deep into the skin without disrupting any skin tissues, meaning there is no downtime at all. This energy reaches all the way to the SMAS layer, a.k.a the superficial muscular aponeurotic system, which is a muscle system that plastic surgeons target for facelift procedures. This layer cannot be reached with other conventional lasers, which is what makes HIFU such an effective treatment while still non-invasive. The energy thus causes thermal-coagulation in the deeper layers, resulting in collagen production as well as tightening. Indications for treatment include blurred jawlines, drooping skin, double chin, wrinkles, and more.
