Slender Arms With Cryolipolysis in Seoul Korea

Slim and feminine arms aren't only concerns for summer, y'all. Of course you want to look great in a tank top or bikini, but the problems carry on during the winter as well. Do you know how humiliating it can feel to try on a cute coat and discover that your arms can't squeeze into the sleeves? Or if they do, it's because you're barely wearing anything underneath, which means when it's actually time to wear the coat, you can't wear the extra sweater for warmth. If you're arms are flabby and you don't think exercising will help, then it's time to try cryolipolysis . Cryolipolysis is a non-invasive  treatment that uses a machine to selectively freeze fat cells in a targeted area. It can apply to any area that has plenty of fat: arms, thighs, butt, abs, back, you name it. And it's not even that painful; you get to sit on a nice couch in a little room at the clinic and watch TV while the equipment does all the work. The initial start might feel

Excel V by Cutera is a state-of-the-art laser that boasts versatility and precision. Operating in three different modes, Excel V can treat a wide range of conditions, from pigmentation to vascular problems to improving skin elasticity. Downtime may include some minor swelling, as well as micro-crusting, meaning the pigmentation may look darker for a few days before naturally falling off. Doctor's Training Program for Obesity Treatments

Renewme Dermatology Clinic Network offers opportunities for foreign doctors to learn about popular treatments and procedures here in Korea. Our courses focus more on hands-on training rather than simple theory, allowing doctors to practice under close supervision before regularly performing on patients. One course we believe might be particularly interesting is the training program for obesity treatments. These are minimally invasive treatments that have been proven effective in slimming and contouring, without the troublesome side effects and downtime of actual liposuction: FatOut (Quick Mini-Liposuction) This combines the effects of liposuction but makes it a lot simpler. Anesthesia is done only locally, and after a fat-dissolving solution is injected, a small amount of fat is removed through a canulla. Effects are immediately visible once the slight swelling goes down, and suturing is not necessary which means patients can go back to their daily routines right away. Patients

Filler Injections for Flat, Sunken Foreheads

I'm not sure how many of you would be familiar with this, but in Korea and many other Asian cultures, physiognomy is held in high regards even today. This refers to the study of analyzing a person's characteristics, life, and future, based on his or her face (appearances). Now, I know most of us learn not to judge a book by its cover and for the most part, it's absolutely true that what's inside should be deemed more important than any other feature of a human being. Nevertheless, physiognomy is quite a popular culture and is frequently consulted for fun, like tarot card readings. You might be surprised to find that maybe there might be an inkling of truth behind physiognomy, especially as there is such a vast history of research and practice, and depth, behind its studies. Ancient beliefs tell us that the condition and appearance of your face reveals your entire life, your health, your universe. We ordinary people might not have the ability to read between the lines,

Botox Treatment for Defined Calves in Seoul Korea

There are many uses for botox injections, some of which you might not be familiar with. You can use them for wrinkles, for reducing square jaws, for hyperhydrosis, and for shrinking overdeveloped shoulder muscles. One other popular option for botox injections at our clinic is for the calves. Why? Ladies in Korea don't like defined and bulging calves. We like slender and smooth; legs that are naturally beautiful and don't look like they've been running or exercising or doing any sort of physical labor. Such legs can look more feminine and sexy when wearing skirts or dresses or skinny jeans. Now, exercising and working out like mad won't help you achieve these slender legs - it's not the fat that's the problem, it's the shape of the muscle. And instead of massaging it completely (some girls like to use glass bottles to "roll them into shape") the easiest method might be to paralyze the muscles and cause atrophy to soften the shape a bit. And th

Korean Skin Care Routine - Worth It Or Not?

If you have any interest in skin care in Korea (which is highly likely as you are reading this blog), you may know that Koreans are famous for their multi-step skin care routines to maintain flawless glowing skin. I can confirm this from personal experience; when I've told other Korean ladies once that all I use is toner and lotion, and sometimes don't even bother with the toner, the general reaction I got was: "You should take better care of your skin, or else it'll age faster! At least use a good moisturizing cream!" Most girls I know use an average of 4-5 products daily. And a glance at the number of products used in one sitting can be overwhelming if you're not used to it. Serum? Essence? Emulsion? Ampoule? Night cream? What the heck? What are all these weird sounding names? Before you go rushing off to buy any or all of these, first consider what the differences might be. Basic skin care product consists of cream or lotion that includes moisturizing ag

Cryolipolysis: Non-Invasive Treatment to Shed INCHES Off Your Waist

Winter is approaching fast; leaves are beautifully changing color, the air has become chilly and crisp, and I am making an incredible effort to suppress the urge to devour warm croissants and pies and soup and hot chocolate every morning. Cold weather calls for the body to start storing fat to tuck away during hibernation (I think I might be making this up; do people actually hibernate? Because I seriously wish I could) which would explain why a lot of us might experience a tremendous increase in appetite for foods that are warm and high in calorie content, as the temperature sinks lower and lower. That being said, I don't know about you, but when I pig out, most of the fat seems to go directly to my belly, as if there was a hotline or something. I'm sure many of you have the same concerns; the food baby that stubbornly refuses to leave, regardless of how hard you might work out. If you're considering seeking help from a clinic, but if you're afraid of liposuction or

How to Shrink/Reduce Wide Nostrils Without Surgery

Wide, flaring nostrils can be a source of stress for many, whether you believe it or not. This is actually a really difficult and tricky area to treat. If it were just the height of the nose bridge that was the problem, it could easily be fixed with dermal filler or rhinoplasty. The shape of your nostrils, on the other hand, has nothing to do with the height of your nose, and can be a main factor in determining what makes a small, pretty, feminine nose. What's more discouraging about this is that even plastic surgeons would not be able to provide an easy solution. Surgically altering the nostrils can result in bad scarring, and can leave the shape of your nose uneven and asymmetrical, which is why it is usually advised against. But did you know that botox injections can actually correct wide flaring nostrils? This simple procedure can help you achieve a more feminine and pointier-looking nose. Another plus is that by making your nostrils appear narrower, your nose can also gi

Eyebrow Tattoo Removal at Renewme Skin Clinic

This is a blog post contribution by Dr. Ko Na Young, head dermatologist of our Hwagok branch. The original post in Korean, can be read by clicking here . I feel this each time, but we are really grateful for Dr. Ko's efforts to help with the blogging, and her determination to share with everyone her personal experiences and views on the latest skin treatments. It's an insight that is not so easily accessible, especially for those who want a professional opinion or testimonial amidst the overflow of information online, and we really appreciate everything she is doing for us! Earlier this year , my mother went for semi-permanent eyebrow makeup treatment, and was unhappy with the results because her eyebrows turned out too thick and dark. We thought it would get better after waiting a week or two, but even after a month her brows were very unnatural and black, while my mother had aimed for natural-looking brown eyebrows. Then around March, we took a selfie together and all I c

Pizza Festival at Pizza Hut Korea

Pizza Hut Korea started this event around last year, but it got so popular that now I think they're just making it a regular thing. It's called Pizza Festival, and it's a great way to try different kinds of pizza without having to think too much, plus you can eat until you're stuffed. Sort of. So basically, for a really good price (9,900 won for lunch on weekdays and 13,900 won for all other times) you get to use the salad bar, drinks, and every 5-10 minutes or so a slice of pizza with random toppings is brought to you. You don't get to choose anything - you have to deal with what is brought to you. The slices are not too big either, so you can try many different types without feeling too full. I would say the average person could eat about 4-5 slices and feel content... but you can always go for more. The only catch is, there is a time limit of 100 minutes. Yummy appetizers from the salad bar Yummy appetizers from the salad bar (egg salad, pumpkin salad,

Mini-Liposuction Blog Post by Dr. Ko Na Young

Here is a blog post written by Hwagok branch head dermatologist Dr. Ko Na Young. The original post, written in Korean, can be read by clicking here . Ever since I was young, I was always concerned about the extra fat in my thighs. My calves were not so bad after I started to work out in my twenties. My thighs, on the other hand, would not budge no matter how hard I exercised. All of the clothes I bought had to fit my thighs more than any other area, and I couldn't wear pencil skirts because they would feel so uncomfortably tight, so I had to stick to flared skirts. Then, about 5-6 years ago, I extracted some fat from my thighs for a fat grafting procedure. Since then I have seen some size reduction that has been maintained until now. I didn't remove a tremendous amount of fat like traditional liposuction (over 2000 cc) - it was just about 150-200 cc from both thighs, but it was still very effective in reducing the size of my thighs. Areas such as the thighs and upper arms
