Types of Fillers Used at Renewme Skin Clinic

Dermal filler has become quite a common aesthetic procedure in Korea, as it is simple, with instant results in restoring volume in the face. Not all dermal fillers are the same, though; there are countless brands out there in the market, made with different materials and technology. Not all filler brands are safe and FDA approved, and naturally, higher quality fillers are much more costly. Considering all of these in mind, our dermatologists have selected a few tested and certified brands to use at our clinics. Bear in mind our doctors have all tried these on themselves, so they fully understand the patient's perspective before administering the procedure. Here are a few of our dermatologists, Dr. Yang, Dr. Ko and Dr. Kim:

But today's post is about the fillers, not about our doctors. Let's jump right in!

1. Restylane (Hyaluronic Acid)
Restylane, and other Korean brands such as Yvoire, is comprised of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that we all have naturally in our skin but depletes as we age. HA fillers are the most common, and due to its high water containing capacities, it is an excellent moisturizer and hydration booster as well. Restylane minimizes allergic reactions because it includes no animal products, and does not affect the facial muscles, making for natural and safe results.

2. AestheFill (Poly-Lactic-Acid)
This is a long-term filler with effects that last up to 2 years. AestheFill gradually accelerates collagen regeneration, resulting in a natural increase in volume over time.

3. Sculptra (Poly-L-Lactic-Acid)
Approved by the US FDA, Sculptra is an injection that stimulates and regenerates collagen within the skin. It can naturally add volume to your face while improving wrinkles and elasticity.

4. Ellanse (Polycaprolactone)
Ellanse is approved by the US FDA and CE certified, and is a reliable filler with durations that can laser from 1-4 years depending on which type you select (at our clinic we typically use M, which lasts 2 years). Much like hyaluronic acid, this filler has immediate effects but can last much longer without adverse effects, which makes it an ideal option if budget is not an issue for you.

5. Rejuran Healer (Polynucleotide)
Rejuran is a gel formation of polynucleotide that has been approved by the Korean FDA and proven to induce long-term tissue regeneration from within the deep dermis. Rather than contour/fill in volume, Rejuran is called a "healer" because it improves general skin condition and wrinkles naturally.
