Treatment for Sunken, Tired Looking Eyes

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope everyone is off to a good start. Early January is always a time for new beginnings, to start afresh and to make resolutions we don't end up keeping... just kidding (not really). It's also a reminder that we will soon be a year older, and our appearances will not be able to keep up even though we all stay young at heart.

A particularly stressful issue can be sunken eyes, which can only do harm for people's first impression of you. Just today I met with a Singaporean patient who came in for treatment. She had visited us a year ago and came again because the results were so positive. I had the loveliest chat with her, and thought she was so cool and laid back and an absolute pleasure to hang out with :D Anyway, she mentioned that her eyes had that sunken appearance since her early twenties, and though she didn't actually look older, people were constantly asking whether she was tired, and this caused her quite a bit of distress.

Luckily, after treatment, everyone around her had noticed that she looked much more refreshed. The results were so natural and subtle, that everyone knew she looked better but couldn't exactly pinpoint why! Of course, that's the result we all want, right? Check out the before and after pics she sent us from last year:

And what, you might ask, is this wonderful treatment called?

Why, dermal filler, of course.

Dermal fillers are most known for adding volume and restoring wrinkles. The most popular solution for fillers is hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that exists in all human beings and deteriorates over time. Since it's a substance we already naturally possess, there's much less of a chance of infection, allergic reactions, or side effects.

Procedure time takes about an hour, anesthesia (numbing cream) included. It is fairly simple, affordable compared to other major aesthetic procedures, and quite effective (lasts for about 1 year). One important thing is to visit a doctor who know what he/she is doing - although simple, it is still a procedure that requires skill, precision, and a knack for design. Make sure the doctor is certified, and that the clinic is sterile and safe. Once you are in the right hands, a filler injection can seriously be life-changing for you!
