Sculptra Dermal Filler Injection in South Korea - Long & Natural Results

Asides from the famous and well-known brands such as Restylane or Juvederm, there are loads (perhaps even hundreds) of dermal filler brands that have not made the spotlight in the field of aesthetics and cosmetic dermatology. Companies are constantly researching and experimenting with different types of filler, coming up with ways to help you achieve a more youthful appearance, preferably with the most natural and long-lasting results. It shouldn't come to you as a surprise that not all dermal fillers are the same; you'll find yourself having to choose between different solutions, substances, and concentrations that will act on the skin in a variety of ways. Specifically which brand or type would suit you and address your concerns best, should be decided after a consultation with your dermatologist or physician. But of course, most patients would naturally gravitate towards well-known brands that are approved and certified for their effects and safety.

One such brand is Sculptra, a North American filler brand that has been approved by the US FDA for volume restoration. Sculptra consists of Poly-L-Lactic acid (PLLA), a substance that regenerates collagen from deep within the skin. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane, the effects of which are immediately visible, Sculptra takes effect gradually over several months and ideally require a few sessions spaced about 3 weeks apart. On the plus side, the results are very natural looking, and can last for as long as two years. If you're looking for a subtle filler to slightly correct lines without being too obvious, then this is the perfect choice for you. Just be aware that Sculptra may cost a bit more than your average filler, and works best if you are able to receive a retouch over the next several weeks.

Now, as mentioned before, Sculptra results take time. Immediately after the injection is administered, you might think that your wrinkles have immediately disappeared. However, this is just a temporary reaction - this initially restored volume dissolves within the skin and the volume will die down again. The volume will return after the dissolved PLLA starts to regenerate collagen for gradual results.

Sculptra works best on the nasolabial folds (lines extending from the nose to mouth), as well as cheeks and chin. If these are your primary areas of concern, check out Sculptra and consult your doctor to see whether this may be just the treatment you need.

Mini-Liposuction Blog Post by Dr. Ko Na Young

Here is a blog post written by Hwagok branch head dermatologist Dr. Ko Na Young. The original post, written in Korean, can be read by clicking here . Ever since I was young, I was always concerned about the extra fat in my thighs. My calves were not so bad after I started to work out in my twenties. My thighs, on the other hand, would not budge no matter how hard I exercised. All of the clothes I bought had to fit my thighs more than any other area, and I couldn't wear pencil skirts because they would feel so uncomfortably tight, so I had to stick to flared skirts. Then, about 5-6 years ago, I extracted some fat from my thighs for a fat grafting procedure. Since then I have seen some size reduction that has been maintained until now. I didn't remove a tremendous amount of fat like traditional liposuction (over 2000 cc) - it was just about 150-200 cc from both thighs, but it was still very effective in reducing the size of my thighs. Areas such as the thighs and upper arms...
