How to Find Our Jamsil Branch

Our Jamsil branch is frequently visited by international patients; opened in April last year, it has clean and high quality facilities, and is at a convenient location for local expats around the area as well as tourists, since it's on subway line 2, one of the busiest in Seoul. However, a lot of patients still have trouble finding the clinic, since the entrance and sign can be a bit inconspicuous and hard to spot. Which is why in today's post, I am going to explain everything you need to know about finding our clinic. If it is your first time visiting our Jamsil branch, give this post a quick read-through and you will be able to navigate much more easily. First of all, here is the address of our Jamsil branch, both in English and Korean: Seoul, Songpa-gu, Jamsil-dong 184-21 9th Floor  서울 송파구 잠실동 184-21 Use it to locate on Google maps or whichever map you prefer, to spot our clinic. Or just hand this address to the taxi driver. 1. TAKING THE SUBWAY We are located...

Bagels Galore at MONO CHEESE in Gangnam, Seoul!

I've always had a soft spot for bagels. It gets me all nostalgic, thinking about my younger days when I was living in the US, and my dad would buy freshly baked bagels from the local shop, with homemade cream cheese. Those things were seriously so good - chewy and hearty and simply delicious. I'm not sure how other people might think, but I would say that New York's bagel game is pretty strong, which is why during my life here in Seoul I was disappointed quite often every time I tried a bagel. It just wasn't the same. And they only had about 2-3 types of bagels, and only one kind of cream cheese, which was no fun at all. When I heard that a bagel store opened up near Nambu Terminal, near Renewme Skin Clinic Seocho branch, I was naturally ecstatic. This place had about 10 different types of cream cheese, which weren't exactly like the ones I had in New York but it was still a break from boring old plain. I made it my personal mission to try each flavor and show it ...

"DermaShine" Hyaluronic Acid Injection Promotion & Self Care for Ultimate Moisture

With chilly autumn winds rapidly approaching our way, it's time to prepare your skin for the dry harsh weather to come. Often times in cold temperatures, we find ourselves with cracked, dry, flaking skin that requires extra moisturizing care in contrast to humid summers. If only you could find some way to keep your skin nice and hydrated without having to constantly remind yourself to apply lots and lots of creams or moisturizers! Well I am here to tell you that yes, there is a way - a popular treatment in Korea, also known locally as the "water shine" injection. Water Shine injection (aka DermaShine, after the name of the equipment), is a treatment that consists of hyaluronic acid being evenly  injected all across the face. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that already exists in our bodies, but decreases over age - you'll notice that older people tend to have drier and more paper-like skin. HA has exceptional water retaining capacities and is used for dermal fille...

Excimer Laser Treatment in Seoul for Vitiligo/Psoriasis/Atopic Dermatitis

Howdy, everyone. August, and consequently summer, is slowly coming to an end. As if the sky is able to feel my gloom, it's been rainy and dreary for the past couple of days. I've been in long pants and a cardigan all day, the first in a long while, and we haven't even turned on the air conditioner at the office - I think that says it all about the change in weather (for me, anyway). In any case, I hope everyone has had at least some sort of opportunity to enjoy the summer. For students, now is the perfect chance to start a new semester afresh, with motivation levels at 110%. Hwai-ting (Korean pronunciation of 'fighting': phrase of encouragement)!!! Today's post is more for the expats who are living in Korea, rather than the tourists who only have a few days to stay. Dermatology clinics are not visited solely for cosmetic purposes; it is a medical clinic like any other, but specializing in the skin. You might be surprised as to how many different types of lesio...

Laser Tattoo Removal in Seoul Korea

Tattoos have a long history and throughout the years have served a lot more purposes as we might have originally thought. They can be used for medical purposes, identification purposes, advertising purposes, religious purposes, and more. Some are purely functional, and some are more of a cultural ritual. The most common tattoo that we are aware of, of course, is the cosmetic tattoo, which serves to decorate the body. This type of tattoo is a pretty big commitment and should always be thoroughly considered before you go through with the actual procedure. We all know that the removal process is even more painful and cumbersome, so you better make sure you won't have any regrets before making the big decision. I've actually just googled "stupid tattoos" for fun - you should try it too, if you're bored. You'll find a few unbelievable results that will have you facepalming in no time, and probably thinking twice before you get tatted yourself. Tramautic tattoo...

Big Big Big Mole Removal! :D

One thing I noticed while translating for our English speaking patients is that a lot of foreigners are actually quite affectionate towards their moles. I suppose they're also called "beauty marks" for a reason; they can give your face character and uniqueness, which is considered positive in many individualistic Western cultures. Personally, I believe that this is a healthy way of perceiving one's body image, and quite understandable. That's not to say I'm against people who want to remove moles; I can also 100% relate to those who want a perfectly clear face - which is a more common mindset here in Korea, and which also might be another reason why Koreans seem to all have such good skin. Anyway, that was my random observation of the day. Today I'm writing to show you a mole removal session on our Chinese interpreter Mandy; she had a rather large one on her chin which was treated with CO2 laser at our clinic. Numbing cream is first applied to the t...

Fat Grafting at Renewme Skin Clinic Korea - Real Results

When you start doing research on big cosmetic procedures such as fat graft (or plastic surgery, mostly), candid before and after photos are one of the biggest factors that influence your choice of clinic. You want to see real patients - not photoshopped, not sponsored - but not many patients are so willing to expose their faces online. There are certain communities created solely for this purpose; a platform for people to share their testimonials of different cosmetic procedures as to provide an honest guideline during your quest to find the perfect clinic. Even so, it's not an easy task, to see real patient testimonials and photos. Although this post is written by the clinic, neither the patient nor her photos were in any way requested by us. Guo Jie, who is from China, sent us her photos to let us know how satisfied she was with her results, and told us that we were more than welcome to share them to anyone willing to see. We are truly grateful for this act of kindness! Now, th...

Latest Treatment for Tear Trough/Under-Eye Bags and Dark Circles

"Are you okay today? You look tired." "I'm perfectly fine. It's just my face." How annoying is it to hear that all the time? If you've had loads of conversations even remotely  similar to the one above, this blog post is definitely for you. I mean, it really can get exasperating, you know; to realize that regardless of how you're feeling that day, no matter how rejuvenated and alert you feel, people are always thinking that you look tired. Hmmm... or actually, I can't pick which is worse: that, or dying inside while outwardly you look perfectly healthy and energized, your face not even reflecting a fraction of your pain. Unnecessary dilemmas aside (I should stop getting so sidetracked all the time), the biggest perpetrator of a tired looking face would be sunken/sagging under-eyes with deep, dark shadows. They appear mostly when you lack sleep or when you're under a lot of stress. Even worse, they make you look older . You might have rea...
