In recent blog posts I have introduced a couple of dermal filler brands that we use at our clinic - and today I'd like to talk about one of the most commonly used Korean filler brands in Korea: YVOIRE® by LG Life Sciences. Yep that's right, LG doesn't just make your TV monitors and smartphones; they have huge businesses that cover many aspects of our everyday life, with beauty and cosmetics being no exception.
Much like the well-known Restylane, Yvoire is a hyaluronic acid filler that is made from non-animal substances and has been approved and certified for its safety. Since hyaluronic acid is a substance that already exists in our bodies, which therefore becomes absorbed over time, there is very low risk of allergic reaction. The best part is that since the brand is from our own country Korea, costs are also much lower than other imported filler brands, making Yvoire cost effective as well. What a great cherry on top!

There are different products within Yvoire filler brand, that serve different purposes (Classic, Volume, Contour, Hydro). The size of the particles determine which area is to be treated. Sensitive areas such as the under-eyes require smaller particles, whereas larger areas like the forehead or frontal cheeks would need bigger particles. You can click here to be directed to the official Yvoire website to take a look at the different products that are offered.
Here are also some guidelines provided by the Yvoire webpage, for before and after procedure.
BEFORE:
- Please do not wear heavy makeup before the procedure.
- It is recommended not to drink alcohol at least a week before the procedure.
- Please do not take vitamins, red ginseng or wine to prevent bruising.
- Tell your doctor if you are currently taking medicines, or have any allergies, especially an allergy to a specific drug (procedure) prior to the procedure.
- Local anesthetics may be used to relieve pain in a specific area if necessary.
AFTER:
- Please do not touch your surgical area for about 3 to 4 hours after receiving the filler. Please avoid getting water in the surgical area.
- You can lightly wash your face 3 to 4 hours after the procedure and it is recommended to wear makeup a full day after the procedure.
- Please do not drink alcohol or smoke for one to two weeks after the procedure.
- You are advised to avoid ultraviolet light (UV light), UV gel or sauna.
- Please avoid other cosmetic procedure such as laser or pilling for about 2 weeks after the procedure.
- Please do not massage or exert pressure on the surgical area for about 4 weeks after the procedure.
- Symptoms such as swelling, bruising, itching, irritation or red spots will naturally disappear as time goes by. If red spots or pain are still present at least a week after the procedure, please visit your doctor.
- Filler is a fluid substance which will be solidified a full day after the procedure. This will be gradually absorbed into the body as time goes by.
- The retainability of fillers totally depends on personal conditions which may also be affected by the type of product, injected area and body constitution, external impact, etc.
- This filler may be injected a series of times if necessary so please discuss it with your doctor after the primary procedure.
Long story short, Yvoire is a safe, affordable, and reliable filler brand from Korea that you should definitely consider if you're interested in dermal fillers! Contact us today for consultation or to book an appointment for Yvoire filler injections.
