Big Big Big Mole Removal! :D

One thing I noticed while translating for our English speaking patients is that a lot of foreigners are actually quite affectionate towards their moles. I suppose they're also called "beauty marks" for a reason; they can give your face character and uniqueness, which is considered positive in many individualistic Western cultures. Personally, I believe that this is a healthy way of perceiving one's body image, and quite understandable. That's not to say I'm against people who want to remove moles; I can also 100% relate to those who want a perfectly clear face - which is a more common mindset here in Korea, and which also might be another reason why Koreans seem to all have such good skin.

Anyway, that was my random observation of the day. Today I'm writing to show you a mole removal session on our Chinese interpreter Mandy; she had a rather large one on her chin which was treated with CO2 laser at our clinic.

Numbing cream is first applied to the treatment area for about 40 minutes.

CO2 Laser
CO2 laser uses carbon dioxide to vaporize the skin surface, and is effective in removing moles, warts, and other skin growths on the skin. Due to the help of numbing cream, patients hardly feel any pain during the actual treatment - for one mole, the whole procedure may take about 5-10 minutes.

Once the laser session is over you are advised to keep on the dressing tape for at least a week to prevent scarring or further pigmentation. Avoid the sunlight during this period, as well as sauna and hot baths. And remember to apply plenty of sunscreen! Once the wound completely heals over you can visit after a month or two for a second session.

Very simple, isn't it? Keep in mind that mole removal costs can differ based on size and quantity, so send us a photo in advance if you would like to receive an estimate quotation before visiting.
