Best Hair Removal Method?

Smooth, hairless, and silky skin is what most women are after these days, especially during the summer when our limbs are exposed for the majority. If you're one of those people struggling with stubborn body hair, you may have tried every sort of method there is for hair loss, in hopes of finding the best and most effective, yet affordable one. Dr. Yang, head of our Seocho branch, made an appearance on a KBS news program to discuss various methods and effects of hair removal.

The methods tested on this program were hair removal cream, waxing strips, epilators, and razors. All of these are common home remedies, but are all temporary solutions that cannot prevent the hairs from growing back. Plus, using hair removal creams also has its risk of side effects such as dermatitis or folliculitis, inflammation in the skin or follicles.



The safest and most effective hair removal method, according to Dr. Yang, is by laser. When done correctly by professional, laser hair removal leaves no scars or burns, and can yield permanent effects. The laser targets hair follicles that are still growing, which only account for about 10-20% of total hair. Therefore, to minimize any damage, at least 5 monthly sessions of laser are required to see full results.


Laser hair removal works for any part of the body; under arms, upper lip, arms, legs, bikini line, belly, back. chest, sideburns, you name it. Since you need at least 5 months for complete removal, it's best to start now while it's still winter, before t-shirt and shorts weather arrives!
